I fundraised with a group of scouting friends at a Sevenoaks triathlon selling sweets, treats and drinks. It was an effective team effort and overall, we raised most of our money walking around and engaging with the public, explaining what we were doing. Next time I would be less nervous when approaching others and informing them of what the World Scout Jamboree is. However overall, it was a wonderful opportunity to enlighten more people about the scouting community. I am grateful for the help and donations that were given by the volunteers that were dotted around the route and would like to give a huge congratulations to the participants in the race.
Maia was a Scout at the 16th Ide Hill Scouts, and since applying for the Jamboree has joined the Beaufighters Explorer Scout Unit in Edenbridge as well as becoming a Young Leader at the 12th Edenbridge.
